Over the last 3 years the Leicester  Leicestershire SCITT /SD  data is:

  • 100% of trainees* have been in employment contracts as NQTs by the end of the course.
  • 99% of our trainees have  graded by schools and the SCITT as `Good’ or Outstanding’ (78%) against the Teachers’ Standards at the end of training
  • 96% of trainees starting the training gained QTS in the last 3 years (National figure 90%)

All trainees on the Leicester and Leicestershire SCITT and School Direct routes benefit from:

    • charismatic and expert trainers, actively engaged in raising standards in local schools;
    • a clear emphasis on putting theory into practice in both the central and school based training;
    • experience in teaching on block placements in three contrasting primary schools;
    • teaching across the Early Primary (3-7yrs) or Primary( 5-11yr) age range, working with pupils from rich and diverse cultural backgrounds;
    • experiencing training and working in an outstanding special school;
    • gaining an internationally recognised full PGCE qualification with Masters level credits, accredited by a UK University;
    • outstanding personalised support from a close-knit group of fellow trainees and dedicated trainers, with whom you are likely to form very strong links and friendships
