About the course: School facilities
The lead school, Dovelands Primary, has a fully-equipped training room with internet access, interactive whiteboard, Literacy and Numeracy documentation and refreshment facilities. The SCITT offices are based, within the lead school, and hold all the administrative records and the central resources library. The network of partnership schools, also offer a wide range of accommodation for training including computer suites, state of the art ICT facilities and withdrawal rooms.

All the partnership schools have very good reprographic facilities. Several of the schools have community centres allowing out of hours use of the school facilities. All schools have staffrooms which are open for the use of the trainees on their placements.

Several of the schools have a large number of pupils on roll who represent a range of different ethnic groups; these schools have developed particular expertise in supporting children for whom English is not their heritage language. Other schools have expertise in integrating children with special needs into mainstream education. Schools within the partnership contain a diverse pupil population in terms of socio-economic mix, ethnicity and ability. This contrasting and wide spread of school catchments enables trainees to gain valuable insight into teaching in a variety of settings.
